Exceptional Service

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve. We are even more touched by the kind words of those we have served in the past.

Jared and Staff at Colonial:

I am Carol Engel’s brother. I am also a retired florist. Over my 30+ years as a florist I’ve had the opportunity to work with about all of the funeral homes and funeral directors in the Upper Snake River Valley (Idaho Falls north) and for a short time also in the Burley/Rupert area.

During those years I have never seen a funeral home staff exhibit the level of care and concern to a family or attention to details that I witnessed yesterday by Colonial Funeral Home during the services for Bob Engel. Your service went far above and beyond fantastic. I am totally “blown away” impressed! Thank you so much.

Again, thank you.

Kindest regards,

Rob Allen

Jared,

Perhaps you would like to know that my family and I could not have been more pleased at the funeral you arranged for Bobbi.

To begin with the personal touch we felt when we first came in contact with you was reassuring and comforting. Like most people we were really babes in the woods. Quickly, we were at ease.

We had in mind to keep the costs reasonable but respectable. The choices you gave us for the casket and other features were extremely satisfactory.

Jared, everything was great. The programs were beautiful. The casket was beautiful. The sign-in details and the book were beautiful. The care and attention to Bobbi was beautiful.

We have said that there was nothing that could have been done that would have made it better.

From my entire family and from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

Sincerely,

Paul

The Family of Ray Norton

Dear Sirs:

I’ve just returned from Idaho and the farewell services for my youngest brother, Ray Norton. Please know how impressed I was with the quality of service I recognized and appreciated from all of you. I’ll especially remember and always revere the tender attention I was given at my brother’s graveside.

As a resident of a “warmer place” called St. George, Utah, the cold I felt last Tuesday was most piercing. But someone I didn’t see, was suddenly standing behind me, drawing my shivering old body close enough against his and holding my ice cold hand to help take away the penetrating cold of a winter day in Idaho. He ignored my sobbing with respect as I silently watched the military honor my baby brother had earned.

I tried to learn who it was who had been so very kind, and was told it was one of the funeral directors, who after the military people had been dismissed, gently guided me toward the canopy, then left me with my family. He left before I could see who it was and could thank him from such tender attention for a 91 year old woman.

So whoever you are, please know how your kindness has endeared you to someone you may never know! But I am the oldest of 8 children of Ray’s and my parent’s family, “little brother Ray” 10 years my junior. I loved him dearly and will miss him every day I live.

Again, I thank you for helping make the last goodbye to a loved one as pleasantly bearable as such as time as this could be. The beautiful programs, the incredible heavenly expression on my brother’s countenance as he lay “sleeping”, the professional way everything was handled throughout the entire services, brought a peace that healed a grieving sister. Again I thank you with all my grateful heart.

The Family of Beth Dunn

Words cannot even begin to express our deep gratitude and appreciation to Jared and the rest of Colonial Funeral Home. Jared was kind, compassionate, very tender and respectful in the way he prepared mother for her final resting place. He understood the pain and sorrow we were experiencing and did everything in his ability to make this a time we could celebrate the life of our mother and not be a burden to worry about her funeral. Jared went above and beyond the call of duty to serve the Dunn Family. W e will be eternally grateful. The Beth Dunn Family.

The Family of Lewis Probart

To the Colonial Funeral Home Staff I wanted to thank you all and express the gratitude from our entire family for assisting us at the time of our father, Lewis L Probarts death. Your staff treated Dad with dignity and respect and we were relieved knowing he was in your gentle hands. It was such a difficult time for us, but you gently guided us thru the process and because you knew Dad personally you were able to quietly remind us that laughter of good memories is part of grieving and he loved to laugh. Jared Clinger graciously agreed to conduct Dad’s farewell service and we so appreciated the assistance and his professional but friendly approach. We also want to thank you for helping to arrange and orchestrate the Military Honors that the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard bestowed on our father. He would have been so proud to be honored as one of America’s heroes. On the day of Dad’s farewell service, which was held in Colonial’s beautiful chapel, we felt the entire staff’s watchful eye and were comforted to know that you were there to lend a hand or moral support, when needed. We felt that we were in the presence of friends. You treated our father, our family and friends with quiet professionalism and because of your experience and gracious guidance, we were able to wish our Dad; “Farewell, we will love you forever.” We thank you. A Thank You from Rita Shail

I learned first hand about the compassionate and caring service offered at Colonial Funeral Home nearly seven years ago when my husband passed away. The genuine desire of all staff members to help me was so evident. Actions that were taken to ease my burden during that sad time of trial touched my heart. I will always be grateful for the care provided, the attention to every detail that was given, and the knowledge that they were willing to give so much of themselves to assist my family and me.

In December, 2009, I again had a need for assistance from Colonial Funeral Home. A dear friend passed away, and the legal responsibility of carrying out her final wishes became mine. My friend had purchased a pre-burial plan from Colonial Funeral Home. The kind, caring, thoughtful, and compassionate service provided by Jared Clinger and his staff at this time was absolutely magnificent. Services provided were far above and beyond the requirements of the pre-burial plan, and Jared’s knowledge and experience in helping me to carry out my responsibilities were invaluable. How blessed I have been because of the dedication and outstanding service provided by the Colonial Funeral Home staff. Thank you!!
