On October 26, 2018, at the age of 83, Lyle Kirby passed away at his home, surrounded by his family. He will be deeply missed by his son, Steve, his daughter, Kathleen, as well as his 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Lyle was born to Fred and Maude Kirby. He was the youngest of 4 children. He graduated from Barnes City High School in 1955 where he developed a life-long love for the game of baseball.

Lyle grew up in the field of Iowa doing farm work and any odd job he could find. Later, he married the love of his life Sharon, on his birthday in 1957. This love would last for 52 years until her death in 2009. He and Sharon would reside in Pocatello where Lyle worked for Challenge Food Co, and later as a heavy equipment operator at Monroc Concrete; from which he retired in 1985.

Lyle enjoyed taking care of his yard/home and participating in senior bowling leagues. He loved Idaho and what the area had to offer. Camping, fishing, and riding motorcycles were a few of his favorite things. He found a lot of joy watching his grand kids play sports and telling stories with family and friends.

Lyle is survived by his son, Steve; and daughter, Kathleen and their families; Stephen, Abra, Adalyn and Kynessa; Jacob, Kelsee, Landon and Macee; Kyndra, Justin, Ayden and Jayse; Christin, Allen, Misty and Danny.

Lyle is preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers, Cedric and Evan; sister, Macelle; nephews, Mike and Ray; as well as his bride, Sharon.

A graveside service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11 am at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5th Ave. Pocatello. A luncheon will follow at the Kirby residence.

My sincerest condolences to the family. May the God of comfort grant you strength and peace during this most difficult time. (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4) And may your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well-lived.

Our family has so many happy memories of the Kirby Family, especially of Sharon and Lyle. We remember he brought home special cream to be sure one of our daughters (as a baby!) would drink her milk! And, she is now way up there in years, and healthy! Thank you so much, dear Family, for the memories, and for all the help in raising our family. Love and prayers to all.
