Christopher Todd Averett, 46, passed away late Tuesday, November 20, 2018 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Chris was born February 23, 1972 in Pocatello, Idaho. He is the son of Randy and Barbara Averett.

In his youth, Chris developed his love of motorcycles, camping, and everything outdoors. Chris graduated from Highland High School in 1990. After high school, Chris's love of working with his hands led him to become a certified master electrician, and was a member of IBEW.

Chris married his high school sweetheart, Allison Burstedt. Chris and Allison have since divorced, but have three wonderful and kind children together; Kelsey, Bryson, and Kayden.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. He loved skiing, hunting, fishing, and off-road motorcycles. He was also skilled in carpentry and built his own home.

He is survived by his three children, Kelsey (Jacob) Bickley, Bryson Averett, and Kaden Averett; his parents, Randy and Barbara Averett; brothers, Cory (Malea) Averett, Kelly (Katrina) Averett, and Colby (Teneille) Averett; and thirteen nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held. Services are under the care and direction of Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho. 208-233-1500.

I extend my deepest sympathies to the family.  When a family member dies, our pain and grief can be unbearable. May the God of all comfort (2 Cor. 1:3, 4) give the family the strength and comfort in this time of need. God promises that death will be no more (Rev 21:4). As we wait on that promise to be fulfilled,  may the God of comfort give you the strength to endure.
