Lynn Richard Jensen, 82, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2016, in Salt Lake City, UT, surrounded by his family.

Richard was born in Pocatello, ID, to Joseph Golden and Myrtle Lillie (Reddish) Jensen on October 31, 1934 and was the youngest of four boys. He graduated in 1952 from Pocatello High School where he was Student Body President and later graduated from Idaho State University. He served honorably in the United States Army and had fond memories of his service.

As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in various capacities throughout his life. Richard especially enjoyed serving in the St. George Temple for many years. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, sports, traveling, and taking pictures. He also enjoyed his profession in sales and those whom he worked with.

Richard is survived by his four children and their spouses, Brent Jensen, Brian and Carrie Jensen, Michelle and Clayton Holbrook, and Eric and Charise Jensen; one brother, Donald Reed Jensen; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jay G. Jensen and Gordon W. Jensen; and one grandchild.

Our family extends sincere thanks to the many doctors, nurses, and others who so kindly cared for our father during the last four months.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho, with a viewing from 1-2 pm prior to the services.

Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 S. 5th Ave. Pocatello, Idaho 83204.

To the Jensen family,
Kenneth J. Orton (who passed away Dec. 16, 2016) and myself would like to send our condolences to the family and let them know how very sorry we are. Richard and Ken went to school together, so maybe they will travel onward and upward the rest of the way. Our love and prayers are yours.

Richard was a good friend here at Sun River in St George, Utah. We have really missed him since his illness took him to be with family. He was a stalwart member of our LDS Branch. His sharp wit and friendly happy countenance will be greatly missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers our with his family at this time.
