Alvin Thompson, 73, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019 at his home in Pocatello, ID. He was born on April 28, 1945 and grew up in Brooklyn, New York.

After graduating high school, he then married at 19 years old. That marriage ended in divorce. Alvin began traveling with work. He loved the big city life. He took a job in Idaho in 1991. He thought he was going to a bigger city and realized that Pocatello was not very big.

Alvin met Sharon Ann Kendall while working at Heinz. They began dating and shortly later, bought a home together. They were married in 1996.

Alvin worked for CH2M Hill for 36 years. His job required him to travel from state to state and city to city. He loved horse races and Nascar races. He also loved gambling and taking Sharon to see new things and especially the thrill of meeting Nascar drivers, and trying new foods and learning new cultures.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Sharon Thompson; daughter, Candace Michaelson; son, Monty Edwards, all of Pocatello, ID; son, Phil Winland, CA; grandchildren, Caden Michaelson, Makayla Michaelson, both of Pocatello, ID, Tyler Winland and Bailey Winland, both of CA.
