It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of our loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend Larry D. Atkinson at age 80. He was born in Treasureton, Idaho on December 1, 1938 to Von and Vera Atkinson.

He was a great man that put a smile on the faces of everyone around him. He was a loving and amazing husband to Jackie (Birrer) Atkinson for 27 years. They were truly soulmates and blessed the lives with all that associated with them. Larry had no biological children, but Jackie's children, Brad Wacaster and Brandy (Wacaster) Heindl, loved him and adopted him as a bonus dad. He loved them like his own and was an amazing grandpa to their children. He made all 11 grandkids feel special and know they were loved.

He was a realtor for 30 years and held office of board of realtor president at one time. He was highly involved in international and gate city civitan before he became ill. He loved this community and stayed involved as much as possible. He served in the US Air Force for 11 years. He also served an LDS mission in Germany.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 21 from 6-8 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. Pocatello, ID.

Funeral services will be on Monday, July 22 at 11 am also at Colonial Funeral Home, Pocatello, ID, with a viewing for one hour prior.

Jackie, just noticed the announcement today. I am so sorry for your loss. We only met Larry once but could tell he was very special. Seems we only ran into each other ever few years. You are thought of often. You and your family are in our prayers. Love you Debbie
