Biography

POCATELLO-Bartlett “Dee” Bloxham, 78, passed away Monday, February 1, 2010, at the Idaho State Veterans Center in Pocatello.

Dee was born in Arimo, Idaho on August 11, 1931, the son of Horace Dewayne and Florence Ann Tripp Bloxham. He attended school in Arimo. In 1948 at the age of 17 he joined the Army and spent over three years in Germany during the occupation of that country. He was discharged on his 21st birthday in 1951.

On March 3, 1955, he married Dawna Mossman and became Dad to her three children. In 1962 they gained another family.

Dee enjoyed working, he did farm work as a young boy, after serving his country he worked for the railroad, was a route salesman for Idaho Creameries, but his dream was working with heavy equipment. In 1957 he started living his dream at F.M.C. as a heavy equipment operator. He worked there for 32 years.

Dee loved all outdoors. He loved to hike, fish, hunt, camping, archery, golf, snow machining, horseback riding, bowling, and most of all he loved being with his family and friends. He loved teaching his kids to do things with him.

He is survived by his wife Dawna, daughter Suty (Floyd) Cameron, Corvallis, OR, son Floyd (Thelma) Simons, Splendora, TX, special family, Linda and Bill Wells, Medford, OR; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren with two more expected soon. He is also survived by his sisters Eloise (Evan) Olson, Marjean (David) Hanks, Gayla (Ron) Hoppens, a brother Teerell (Emma) Bloxham, numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Yvonne, brother LaVere (Charlie) a son Rick, and great grandson Casey Lynn Selander.

Dee’s family would like to thank the staff at the Veteran’s Center for all the compassionate and loving care given to him.

Services will be at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave, Pocatello on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. The viewing will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Burial will be at the Arimo Cemetery.
