Life Legacy


CASPER, WYOMING – Dorothy Leah Pehrson, 92, a long time resident of Pocatello and currently of Casper, Wyoming, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at a local Casper hospital.

Dorothy was born on October 23, 1917, in Burley, Idaho, to Robert and Chloe Jamison. She was the youngest of 11 children and all of them have preceded her in death.

She married Grant Pehrson on June 21, 1952 in Idaho Falls. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they raised 3 children: Sharon, Norman, and Gary.

Dorothy worked as a secretary for Jim Leese at Leese Oil Distribution for many years. Dorothy’s primary focus was her family.

She was involved with cub scouts, girl scouts and held various church callings including young women, primary, and relief society. She also served a Stake Mission with Grant in Pocatello.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Grant Pehrson, son Grant Norman Pehrson, and grandson Norman Lee Rawson.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Danny) Roland of Selmer, Tennessee; son Gary (Jana) Pehrson of Casper, Wyoming; 8 grandchildren: Deborah, Gregory, Kristina, Carrie, Amy, Adri, Justin, Jason, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2010, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow the funeral service at Mountain View Cemetery, 49 West, Row 19, Space 9.
