Curtis Allen Williams, 62, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020 peacefully at his home. He was born on March 10, 1958 in Mescalero, New Mexico.
Curtis attended grade school in Mescalero, NM, Concho Indian School in Oklahoma, Chilocco Indian School in Chilocco, Oklahoma, graduating in 1976. He was on the honor roll at Haskell Indian University and received an AAS in Automotive in 1988.
Curtis married Ilene Ballard on July 26, 1986. They would have celebrated their 34th anniversary this year.
Curtis held several positions with the Sho-Ban Tribes, worked as a Police Officer for Navajo Nation Tribes, and worked for Mescalero Apache Tribes. He worked for 25-30 years mainly in Fire and Rescue, Environmental Protection, Emergency Medical Technician, and Idaho State Emergency Medical Services in Fort Hall, ID.
Curtis was a member of the Red Cross in Pocatello, ID, a member of Emergency Action Planning and Development and the BIA, Mescalero, NM.
He enjoyed traveling, singing, loved history and spending time with his grandchildren.
Curtis is survived by his spouse, Ilene Ballard Williams of Pocatello, ID; sons, Cameron Williams and Christopher Williams both of Ft. Defiance, AZ, Bryce Hall of Blackfoot, ID; sisters, Patrice Enjady and Norrine Austin both of Mescalero, NM; many grandchildren and many children he claimed as grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Terrah Hall; son, Devery Hall; father, Clifford O. Williams; mother, Lucille Tortilla Williams; brothers, Pete Valdez, Ronald Valdez; and sister, Laura Williams.
Curtis will be laid to rest in Mescalero, New Mexico.
