Karen Helen Davidson Sher, 75, died peacefully of natural causes in her home in Pocatello, Idaho on Friday, October 12, 2018. Karen was born in El Paso, Texas on Sept. 2, 1943.  In 1962 Karen met and married Al Sher. They were married for 56 years and sealed to each other in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple for 32 of those years.

Karen devoted her life to her family and her faith.  She loved raising her 3 children and took great joy in spending time with her 13 grandchildren.  Karen was blessed to meet her first two great-grandchildren before leaving this earth.

Karen lived a life of service, always helping others and leading by example. She had a caring heart and a special love for dogs. She never met a dog that she didn’t love, in fact her husband always joked that in his next life he wanted to be a dog and belong to her!  Karen was fun loving and always a good sport.  She was the loudest fan at her grandkids various games, performances and concerts.

Karen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She had unwavering faith and a close relationship with Heavenly Father and the Savior.  She lived her life with charity and grace.  Although Karen’s passing was unexpected, her family is thankful to have been close to her and to have had the privilege of having such an angel in their lives for so long. She is healthy and free from pain now and will do great work in the spirit world.

Karen is survived by her devoted husband, Al Sher; her brother, Gary (Sharon) Davidson; her three children, Monty (Tammy) Sher, Tonya (Trent) Kunz, and Nicole (Shane) Clinkscales; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many beloved family and friends.  Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dorothy Davidson; and her son in law, Eric Gifford.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the LDS stake center located at 655 S. Grant Ave, Pocatello, Idaho at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, October 18, 2018 at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave, Pocatello, Idaho from 6-8 pm and 1 hour prior to the services.  Karen will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Karen’s family is thankful and humbled by the love and support of those who were touched by her in this life.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to your local animal shelter or humane society.
